Carlton Jackson - Drummer at Large
Los Angeles Times longtime Jazz Music critic Don Heckman once wrote of Carlton Jackson's drumming as being "intensely musical..."  The description perfectly describes Carlton, as he has been associated with various areas witin the musical world, and continues to be a first call musician in the performance and recording industry. His flowing, incisive style & a firm respect for the inherent tradition of various music genres has made him a natural choice for local, national, and international projects. This awareness has led to his performances appearing in feature films, television and radio.

Louis Pain KING LOUIE
“Portland, Oregon’s boss of the B-3” --The Oregonian
Welcome to www.LouisPain.com. Whether you’re looking for a show to attend, a band to hire, a keyboardist to gig with, a Hammond organ to rent, or a teacher to study with, you’ve come to the right place!
Louis has played with many great artists locally and nationally to name a few: Paul deLay Curtis Salgado Lloyd Jones Robben Ford Soloman Burke Bernard Purdie Pinetop Perkins Mel Brown Linda Hornbuckle.
A little more from Louis himself: Back in my Bay Area days, I worked regularly with some well-known musicians based down there. Those included Bruce Conte, Jules Broussard, and Cornelius Bumpus. None of those musicians are well-known to many Portlanders, but the folks they worked with are (Tower of Power, Santana, Steely Dan and the Doobie Bros). I also recorded with Dorothy Morrison, lead vocalist with the Edwin Hawkins Singers on "Oh Happy Day." That was pretty cool. And I worked with some soul bands that are known to fans of obscure Bay Area funk. Those groups included Marvin Holmes & the Uptights, Eugene Blacknell & the New Breed, and Johnny Talbert & the Thangs. They don't make band names like that anymore, do they? :-) Louis Pain

NW Ray Charles Tribute
A NW Tribute to Ray Charles was born after the world lost a great treasure in music, the late Ray Charles. Saxophonist Patrick Lamb was inspired to produce a tribute to this musical genius after seeing a nationally televised show featuring many notable national musicians. He was inspired to feature the rich NW music community and the talent it has to offer. This has now become A NW Tribute to Ray Charles.

Sheila E. Griffie
Sheila E. Griffie was born in Connecticut into a family filled with musical talent. As a youngster, Sheila took a different route. When she wasn't reading a book she could often be found with her first camera, a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye (Remember the big silver flash attachment?), taking pictures of family and friends.
